Care for the Craft

Every KishoriJu piece is created with carefully selected fabrics and, where applicable, intricate hand embroidery and artisanal craftsmanship.

The right care will help preserve the beauty, texture and character of your garment for years to come.

Always Check the Garment Care Label

The care instructions provided with your individual garment should always take priority. Different fabrics, embroidery techniques and constructions may require different methods of care.

Cleaning

For delicate, embroidered or artisanal pieces, professional dry cleaning is recommended unless the garment's individual care label states otherwise.

Do not use bleach; avoid harsh detergents; do not soak delicate embroidered garments; do not aggressively rub stains or embroidery; do not wring delicate fabrics.

Drying

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Where the care label permits, allow the garment to air dry naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Do not tumble dry unless specifically permitted.

Ironing

Where ironing is permitted, use low heat, iron from the reverse side, use a protective cloth over delicate areas, and never place a hot iron directly over embroidery, embellishments or delicate surface work.

Storage

Store in a clean, dry and well-ventilated environment. Avoid excessive humidity and prolonged direct sunlight. For long-term storage, breathable garment bags are recommended over airtight plastic bags.

Handcrafted Details

Hand embroidery and artisanal craftsmanship are inherently individual. Small variations in stitch, texture, placement, colour and finish may occur. These variations are part of the character of a handcrafted garment and should not automatically be considered defects.

Natural Fabrics

Natural fabrics may naturally change in texture, softness or appearance over time. Such changes are part of the character of natural textiles.
